This Orange and Blue Week, support the Diversity & Social Justice Education Office and make an impact on our students and community! Choose from 2 important projects that will bring educational enrichment, cultural awareness, critical thinking, and training for work in cross-cultural environments to our community!
Project 1: Help Sponsor a DSJE Illini Change Maker Today!
This intensive one-day, peer-led social justice retreat is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills related to social justice, activism, and allyship. Students acquire and strengthen cultural competencies, awareness, and skills needed to engage in dialogue around difficult topics related to identity, privilege, oppression, and marginalization.
Project 2: Support an Illini’s Social Justice Journey with DSJE!
Field trips have been a staple of education for centuries. From trips to museums, historical sites, and outdoor activities, field trips offer students an opportunity to learn in a unique and engaging environment outside of the traditional classroom. We are excited to support students in gaining a more in-depth understanding of diversity and social justice advocacy through two immersive learning field trips: one to the Chicago land area and the other to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis.
