Our Impact:
Writers love the Writers Workshop! About 98% of consultations are rated “Excellent” or “Very good” in post-session surveys. Students tell us:
“I’m incredibly grateful to the Writers Workshop. I especially appreciated their patience, attention to detail, and the welcoming, collaborative environment they fostered. Thanks to their support, I was able to present my story with clarity and purpose, ultimately gaining admission to my dream Ph.D. program and securing a competitive fellowship. I can’t recommend the Writers Workshop highly enough to anyone navigating academic writing or the grad school application journey!”
— Senior in Materials Science and Engineering
“This was such a good experience I literally texted half a dozen people within five minutes of ending to recommend it. I feel so much more confident in my essay and in my ability to get a good grade with this. I feel ready to submit it, rather than questioning every word as I typically do. I will be back many times this semester and all of the following.”

“I had an excellent meeting on improving my scientific writing and attending the graduate writing groups almost every week! The writers workshop truly helps me so much on proceeding in my degree.”

Your Impact:
The Writers Workshop averages higher than 90% appointment utilization. By mid-semester, when students are struggling the most with assignments and application materials, the Workshop’s wait-time for appointments can be up to 10 days. We regularly have a waitlist of more than 1,200 sign-ups a semester. Your gift provides opportunities for more students to receive feedback, learn about writing, and achieve their goals.
Last year’s Orange and Blue Week donors allowed us to support almost 40 additional students. We welcome donations of any amount: on average, $25 supports one student writer. Our goal this year is to reach 25 donors to help us expand support during peak-deadline periods when students need us the most.
