During Orange and Blue Days, the School of Social Work is asking for your help to support the Fund for Field, to help address the financial challenges that social work students often face during their field placements. By supporting students through this crucial stage, you are enabling them to fully dedicate themselves to their academic and professional development.
Gifts to Fund for Field not only prepare students to enter the workforce as skilled social workers, but also helps address the barriers that interfere with their education. When students are relieved from the worry of covering basic needs, they can more effectively engage with clients, apply theoretical knowledge, and hone essential social work skills—setting them up for success in their future careers.
Currently, the Fund for Field awards 20-30 students $100-$200 each semester to help cover internship costs. Many students use these funds for gas, background checks, immunizations, and other incidentals.
Internships are the cornerstone of social work education. Future social workers gain rich learning experiences as they are immersed in a full-time position with a social services agency aligned with their academic interests and focus areas. Make your gift now and help us equip future social workers with resources to succeed!
